About Lisa

A Yogi for 20 + years, I discovered yoga on my travels around the world in my early 20's. I chose to travel alone as at times I preferred my own company, quietly contemplating life and escaping from Trauma, I found so much healing in Yoga and Meditation. On my return I became a regular student at some well known studio's in London where my passion for yoga grew. It wasn't until much later though in 2009 just before I started a family, I decided to take my journey further and qualified in Vinyasa flow 200hr TT in Ibiza with Still flowing yoga teacher training. Yin Yoga 80hr with Sarah Lo and Jennifer Raye, Restorative 30hr with Ana Davies.

As a teacher I'm always learning and am inspired by so many teachers. I continue all the time attending regular workshops and training so I can share the journey that yoga offers with all my students.

About Ness

Ness has been practising Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga for over 12 years, yet she honestly feels that she didn’t really start practising fully until she discovered John Scott, and his teachings. It was through his teachings that she really understood the subtleties of the practise and the soft beautiful expression of connection and space that is to be found within it. That’s perhaps just the journey we go through, as we move through asana practice. It’s easy to misunderstand the intension of Ashtanga, it’s easy to connect to only a single aspect of this 8 limbed system. This is where the misunderstandings are created and there have been many myths that I have come across during my journey. My experience of Ashtanga is that it is a balancing of opposites, a balancing of strength and flexibility, of the active and passive energies, and a balancing of the masculine and feminine. It is a practise which shifts our attention inwards and gives us a greater understanding of our internal landscape and our connection to the relationship to ourselves and our world. It is Ness's mission to give people the full experience of this beautiful, humbling practice.

Ideally placed right in the middle of the Portes du Soleil, Chatel is the gateway to a marvelous summer playground. You will never forget the miles of open spaces surrounding the meadows, from where you can head off into the middle of nowhere.

Whether you just want to relax, or love the thrill of downhill mountain-biking or enjoy a spot of alpine road biking, or prefer hiking over mountain passes, or maybe even paragliding or white water rafting, we have something for everyone. HOLIDAY OUTLINE

Begin your day the yogi way with a morning yoga class to warm you up ready for the day ahead. Then there’s a delicious healthy brunch, followed by your own time to do whichever activity you desire, from hiking or biking across snow-peaked mountains, wild swimming in glacial lakes or in an outdoor pool with views to astound you, or white water rafting. If you just prefer to relax the chalet has a sauna, an outdoor spa and a lovely terrace with mountain views, there is also a fabulous spa in the village centre with thermal waters and spa treatments. Early evening we will wind down with another yoga and meditation class, followed by fabulous home cooked food. La Chaumiere is a luxurious mountain chalet with breathtaking views in a peaceful location in Chatel. There are all the comforts you will need to relax with the comfiest of beds, crisp linen sheets, huge soft sofas, log fires and above all a welcoming atmosphere.

THE YOGA

The morning sessions are a more dynamic practice to help us stretch, lengthen and warm the body in preparation for a day of adventure! Special focus is on the legs in order to build stamina for those hill-walks or other activities. The evening class is gentle Yin yoga to stretch out and relax sore muscles and joints. The session will vary and we will include pranayama & meditation to help you to really let go and enter a state of deep relaxation.

The classes are suitable for all abilities, Everyone is welcome. I am practiced at adapting the class for everyone’s level. The asanas and meditation will help increase oxygen flow, balance, clarity and promote a peaceful mind. Please see my about page for more info on style I teach.

Nina our lovely 2nd yoga teacher on the retreat, she will be offering an alternative class if you prefer a slower paced class, and co teaching with me on the evening class's.

Total body workout to stretch, tone and elongate the muscles. Working with the Core, increasing balance and improving stamina.

Enjoy delicious, healthy home made food which is an integral part of our Yoga retreat. You will need to feel looked after and nourished with all the exercise and mountain air! . The food is fresh, local and seasonal. Included is a delicious brunch with granola, eggs, juices and fruit, and a gourmet buffet style evening feast with organic and carefully chosen French wiines. Food on our retreats is as important as our yoga.

The villa has direct access to a pretty pebble beach via a path that passes between a small vineyard and a garden featuring organic fruits, vegetables and a variety of Mediterranean herbs.

I will hire 2 Stand up Paddle boards for the week that can be used at any time direct from our villa.

Mid-week we will take a boat trip around the Pakleni Islands, we will be picked up from our villa in the morning and cruise around stopping at a few places to explore, stopping for a light lunch at a bay restaurant and taking yoga at a special beach or secluded spot. This will be arranged and confirmed early 2020 when 2020 prices are confirmed.
